Born of a love of international travel, an unquenchable desire to shop and a flair for design, Jafajems opened its doors on November 11, 1998 in the 'Mews Courtyard' (594 Valley Road, not far from our current location), in Upper Montclair, NJ.

For those who cannot live out the fantasy of globe-trotting, our goal is to offer unique, handmade products from many different countries. We have a colorful melange of offerings in a boutique setting, at reasonable prices.

We have products from Turkey, India, Morocco, Sri Lanka, Mexico, Ghana, Peru, Indonesia, Russia, Kenya, South Africa, Syria, China and Zimbabwe, to name a few.

Our friendly and knowledgeable store personnel can help you with gift or furnishing ideas.

Due to the success of our first location, and great customer loyalty, we were able to add our Church Street location, in Spring of 2003.
